WILLIE MAYS BOYS & GIRLS CLUB

San Francisco, CA

Big Picture

The Willie Mays Boys & Girls Club is a supportive and safe place for children to engage in programs and activities that are meaningful to their development. Their approach regarding your services is focused on the concept “it takes a village.”

In March 2016, Project Color Corps collaborated with fuseproject and Yves Behar as well as the members and staff of the Club to harness the emotions and ideas the kids have regarding color to transform the space.

A Conversation About Color

Through several interactive color seminars led by Project Color Corps’ founder Laura Guido-Clark, the kids learned about the transformational power of color. They were empowered to mix their own paint palette and they expressed a desire to bring elements of nature to their building.

By sharing how their favorite colors made them feel, the kids gained an understanding of how color can influence not only their environment, but how they felt about themselves.

The Transformation

After hearing from the kids, Yves Behar and fuseproject created a powerful, beautiful design based on the kids amazing insight, work, and favorite colors. The students were thrilled to vote and GOOD FUN was the winning palette.
